Terms of use

These terms govern your use of datagalactica.com, the Data Galactica API (including api.datagalactica.com) and the Data Galactica MCP server. By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Data Galactica.

Who runs Data Galactica

Data Galactica ("we", "us") is operated by Y4W Learning Private Limited, Bengaluru, India. Contact: support@datagalactica.com.

What Data Galactica is

Data Galactica gives a permanent Galactica ID to people (DGP-) and organisations (DGC-) and publishes a card for each, built from company registers, open data, career-platform profiles and business lists, with a grade that says how sure we are. It offers a free website, a free API tier, paid API access and an MCP server for AI assistants. Data Galactica is independent and is not affiliated with or acting for any government register or the people and organisations it describes.

Sources and accuracy

Records come from the sources listed on About the data. They are updated on different schedules and can contain errors, omissions or out-of-date entries, and two records with the same name can be different people or organisations.

  • We work to keep Data Galactica accurate and up to date. It is a best-effort service: we do not guarantee that any information is accurate, complete or current. The grade on each card (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Verified) tells you how much to rely on it.
  • Data Galactica is information, not advice. It is not a background verification, a credit report or legal, financial or employment advice. Verify important facts with the original source before you rely on them.

Using the site

  • Reading the site is free, for personal or internal business use. You may quote individual facts with attribution ("Data Galactica, datagalactica.com") and a link.
  • Search engines and AI assistants may fetch and cite individual pages to answer a user's question, with a link to the page.
  • Use Data Galactica lawfully. Do not use it to harass, stalk, discriminate against or defraud anyone, to send unsolicited messages in breach of law, or to break, overload or scrape the service. Bulk access is only through the API, within its limits.

Data licence

The underlying public records stay public. Our compilation, IDs, linking, grading and presentation are licensed to you as follows:

  • Website: read, use for personal or internal business purposes, quote individual facts and link.
  • API and MCP: use the data you receive for your internal business purposes, show individual records to your own users inside your product, and cache responses as long as you need them for those purposes.

Not allowed without a separate written licence from us: reselling or redistributing the data as data (a database, file, feed or bulk list), building a competing directory with it, scraping the website, and training or evaluating AI models on it. Write to support@datagalactica.com for those licences.

API accounts, paid access and payments

  • The free tier needs a key, issued on the API page to a confirmed e-mail. Give accurate details, keep your key secret, and tell us at once if it may have been misused. You are responsible for all use made with your key, including by an app or AI agent you authorise.
  • The paid API is prepaid. You top up your account's wallet with ₹500, ₹5,000 or ₹50,000 of credit, and each paid call takes its price from the wallet. The price of each kind of call is shown on the API page before you pay. We are not currently registered for GST, so no GST is charged; if that changes, GST will be added at the applicable rate and shown before you pay.
  • Calls are refused when the wallet cannot pay. Every call is logged against your key, and that log is the record of what was charged. Keys have daily safety limits.
  • Wallet credit has no cash value, cannot be transferred, does not expire while your account is open, and is refunded only under the refund and cancellation policy. Free credit and free-tier calls have no cash value.
  • Online payments are processed by Razorpay, a payment aggregator regulated by the Reserve Bank of India, under its own terms. We never see or store your full card or bank details.
  • We may change prices with notice on the API page. A change applies only to calls made after it and never reduces credit already in your wallet.

Full-data and contact access

Unmasked contact details are available only on keys we approve after a written request that states the purpose. Such keys must be used only for that purpose and in line with applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Honour any request from a person to stop contacting them, and do not use the data for spam, profiling of private life or any decision about employment, credit or insurance. Every read of a contact is logged, and we revoke keys that break these rules.

Our content and rights

The Galactica IDs, the compilation, software, design, text and the Data Galactica name belong to us or our licensors. Except as these terms allow, no rights are granted to you.

No warranty and limits of liability

Data Galactica is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we and our directors and employees are not liable for any loss arising from the use of, or reliance on, Data Galactica, from errors or omissions in it, or from the service being unavailable, including indirect or consequential loss and loss of profit, business, data or goodwill. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim (or ₹1,000 if you have not paid us).

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of Data Galactica or of data obtained from it.

Third-party links

Cards link to other websites, such as official registers and Wikipedia. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content.

Corrections and removal

Anyone can ask for a correction, and the person or organisation a card describes can claim or remove it, through Check or the links on each card. See the privacy policy.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access to Data Galactica or to a key, in whole or in part, for breach of these terms, misuse, legal reasons or to protect the service. You may stop using Data Galactica at any time.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any arbitration clause in a written agreement between you and us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use Data Galactica after a change means you accept the updated terms.
