What is a Galactica ID?
A permanent ID for every person and every company. DGP- is a person, DGC- an organisation.
- What is a Galactica ID?
- A permanent identifier that Data Galactica gives to a person or an organisation. It looks like DGP-929RKAMSQDNK or DGC-8SFS42RSWAX9: a prefix and 12 letters and digits.
- What is the difference between DGP and DGC?
- DGP- is a person. DGC- is an organisation: a company, a non-profit, a university, a public body.
- Does the ID ever change?
- No. Once issued, an ID stays with that person or organisation. When a better source is found, the record improves and keeps its ID.
- Which other ids lead to it?
- India CINs and LLPINs, UK company numbers (GB-number), LEIs, US SEC CIKs (CIK-number) and Wikidata Q-ids. Put any of them in a Data Galactica URL or the API and you land on the Galactica ID.
- What do Bronze, Silver, Gold and Verified mean?
Bronze One unconfirmed source. It may be a different person or company with the same name.
Silver A structured first-party record, or two sources that agree.
Gold An official register, or confirmed by the owner.
Verified Claimed by the person or organisation, who proved it is theirs.
- Are contact details published?
- Only masked, such as m***@i***.com, with a status (unverified, uncertain, deliverable or verified), so you can see a real contact is on file. The full value is never published. Nobody can look up a person by e-mail or phone; you can only check your own, after confirming a code sent to it.
- How do I get or claim my own Galactica ID?
- Go to the Check page, enter your e-mail and the code we send. You see every record linked to it, and can claim, correct or remove it. If there is none, you can create your card and get a DGP- ID.
- Can my AI agent update my card?
- Yes. Connect it with OAuth after you verify your e-mail. Every change it proposes goes through an automated review before it appears, and notes about other people are held to a stricter standard.
- How should I cite a record?
- Give the Galactica ID and the page URL, and say the grade. For example: Infosys Limited (DGC-8SFS42RSWAX9, gold), datagalactica.com.
